I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) who has been working in the counseling industry for many years. I am originally from Glasgow, Scotland where I obtained my Undergraduate Degree in Psychology from the University of Strathclyde. I moved to Cornelius, NC in 2007 and started working with clients with substance abuse issues. A few years later I decided to return to college and obtained my Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Winthrop University, SC which has allowed me to work with a broader range of clients. I worked for Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center from June of 2014 on the Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health unit and helped children, teens, and their families work through acute and challenging crisis situations. 

At the beginning of 2018 I followed my dream of opening Accent Therapy Services PLLC. My goal of working in an outpatient setting in my community to help children, teens, and their families deal with the daily challenges life brings including the struggles of those diagnosed with anxiety, depression, and other mental health disorders, is now a reality and I could not be happier. I look forward to working with you and your family!

I have called Cornelius, NC home now for 18 years, and I have enjoyed seeing the growth, development, and sense of community that is in abundance in and around Lake Norman. When I am not at work, I spend my time with my husband, our 6 year old little girl, our 13 year old dog, and our friends and family.  Whenever we get the chance we escape to the beach for some essential fun and relaxation.
